Why doesn't DAPHNE play the drawbridge scene in Dragon's Lair?

On the Dragon's Lair laserdisc, the first scene after the attract mode is the 'drawbridge scene'. However, do you remember seeing it in the arcade?

We believe that the US version of Dragon's Lair never actually played the drawbridge scene, and as far as we know, no one has found any ROM images of the US version of Dragon's Lair to dispute this claim. However, some people swear that they've played the drawbridge scene in arcades in the USA. What is the real story? I can think of two possible explanations. One is that there is an unknown US ROM revision out there that no one has ever found that will play the drawbridge scene. The other is that the people who remember the drawbridge scene were playing on a non-US machine.

Dave Hallock modified the Dragon's Lair US ROMs and added in the drawbridge scene. He called his changes DLE (Dragon's Lair Enhancement). So if you want to play the drawbridge scene, you can use DLE.
