How do I disable the move hints in Dragon's Lair 2?

After Dragon's Lair 2 has booted, hold down the service switch (9 by default) and press the sword button. You will enter the service menu. Increase the difficulty to disable the move hints.

NOTE: the move hints only appear on the first level, and they only appear in v3.19 of the Dragon's Lair 2 ROM.
