Which card to use

I typically ship 32 gig microSD cards with Dexter these days.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073JWXGNT/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWN9Q99/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DJKRQBI/

It's fine to use a larger sized microSD card if that's convenient.

Where to get the base image

http://laserdisc-replacement.com/download/dexterpi-v5.img.7z You may need to right-click to download this on some browsers.

You will need to decompress with 7zip ( https://www.7-zip.org/ ) so that you have a file that ends in ".img" .

How to write the new image

I recommend https://www.balena.io/etcher/

How to use the SD card once you have written an image to it

  1. Make sure Dexter's USB drive is inserted into Dexter's Raspberry Pi.
  2. Insert newly imaged SD card into Dexter's Raspberry Pi.
  3. Power on. If all goes well, the SD card will configure itself using data from the USB drive and you will be up and running in a few minutes. Dexter's video output will show a progress bar.
