 Post subject: cliffhanger framefile help/?

i've been reading through, and was wondering if anyone could help? I know you don't deal much/or at all w/ the xbox port ver. of daphne, but..
I have Cliff running perfect on the PC. I have the same framefile settings on both framefiles(xbox-pc). The prob is there is no video on the xbox, just sound. The game plays and everything, and I'm dying cause all that flashes is a the red box saying player1 is dead or something like that. Just wondering if anyone could help? Thanks a lot!!

Cliff Hanger seeks to frame 6 for the attract mode. If your m2v starts at frame 10, you'll see nothing but a black screen when it tries to seek to 6.

Why do you have your ogg file listed in the framefile? That's incorrect. Read the faq on framefiles.

The attract mode should still play the first time through, believe it or not.

You should clear up another thing -- do you see the computer-generated title screens? (the non-laserdisc stuff). Does your xbox play other daphne games fine?

How can I use attract mode, and also how do I correct the problem? Do I just change the 10 to 6? Thanks for the help BTW!!!

can you shoot me an email and help me get Cliff hanger running on the xbox--------I have dvds with dragons lair and space ace---they run just fine----I cant get cliff hanger to run----Always the cant load roms error------if you can email me and send me some instuctions---
Im putting the mpeg dat file and ogg file in the mpeg folder
framefile in the framefile folder
and the roms in the roms folder
Nothing---------I dont know why this is so hard-----------Please help and thanks my email gmoney1@adelphia.net

I still cant believe that this is such a major pain in the ass to get running..........I also cant believe that no one is able to run Cliff Hanger on the Xbox-----I read the installation instructions----followed them exactly how it was written and all I get is Error----Cant open the roms------------If anyone knows how this works please let me know

Dude,

The XBOX version of Daphne is not supported here.... If you can get it working, that's great. But the guy that created the XBOX version did not submit the source code and it hasn't been updated in years now.

Software that is not supported, updated, or is lacking source code is typically a pain in the butt to get working. In fact, I'd bet money on it being difficult. The question is how much time are you willing to invest in fiddling with it to get it working or find out that there is no way to get it to work?

The XBOX version of Daphne is DEAD. No one is supporting it or doing any work on it at all.

i have this problem with cliffhanger with my pc
it is an acer pc with windows xp (service pack2) installed on.
the version of the emulator is daphne loader 1.2
when i load cliff hanger or cliffhanger alternate the emulation loads until the type "good luck" and there the emulation finishes and i can't play.
in the log file the error is this:
unsopported port output 68:43
unsopported port output 68:1
what should i do to solve my problem?

Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong place, but the faq on framefiles has a link, but no Q's and A's that I can see. This works on my Mac, but my xbox gives me an error "Could not open file: d:\OOOOOG" I've successfully gotten through all previous errors, but this one has me stumped!

Also, my DaphneX doesn't appear to have a daphne_log.txt, or I'm looking in the wrong place for that as well. Anyone?

The Daphne Team did not create DaphneX - thus it is NOT supported here.

Ive tried a thousand times and I read the fact---I cant get cliff hanger to work----I always get the damn Cant load roms _bin error----It works fine with the seek test but when i uncheck it gives me the damn error----WTF is wrong---- I also want to know if it matters where the mpeg dat and ogg file are located-----Since there isnt a folder---Can you make a mpeg folder---or just put this in the root----Please help me with this----I looked all over the internet for help and read all the forums----

It seems you didn't look very hard. If you use the 1.0 beta, everything is auto-configured for you.

When did Cliff Hanger become functional in 1.0? I've been away a while, but I searched and I don't see anything new. Haven't played it in a while, either, so nothing updated...guess I should load it up and see, huh?

Technically Cliff Hanger has always been functional in 1.0 However, it currently needs to be configured manually. I apologize for speaking too soon in my previous post. The Cliff roms are no longer auto-configured in the 1.0 beta.
