Ok folks - hope this isn't too dumb a question. Over the last week I have got daphne to work with discs of DL, DL2 and ACE, converting the video using convid2daph. Even managed a batch file that will run the games from Mamewah! (I am about to build a cabinet)

Cannot however get astron belt or badlands to work. Have got the m2v and ogg files in a separate directory, complete with a framefile in the daphne directory. System gets to the 'about to parse files - may take a while' screen and then quits.

Log file reads:

--DAPHNE version 0.99.8cvs
--Command line is: Daphne.exe ASTRON vldp -fullscreen -framefile C:\program files\daphne\ASTRON.txt
--CPU : AuthenticAMD 1700 MHz || Mem : 512 megs
--OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420

Framefile parse succeeded. Video/Audio directory is: D:/downloads/laserdisc/astron belt/
LDP-VLDP: Could not parse video because file D:/downloads/laserdisc/astron belt/astron.m2v could not be opened.
LDP-VLDP ERROR : first video file could not be opened!
Could not initialize laserdisc player!

Framefile reads

D:/downloads/laserdisc/astron belt

10 astron.m2v

After the many trials with getting DL etc to work I realise that the program is not forgiving of syntax errors - however I cannot see my mistake - are my video files duff, they seem to open and view in TMPG.

Any help appreciated :cry:

I'd focus on this line. Can you verify that this file exists and is readable by daphne.exe ?

Thanks for the reply.

The file is there, playback in TPNG (or whatever it's called) seems broken in places with some drop outs and odd looking frames. Should it play back pretty much as a video of the sequences linked together.

Yeah, your mpeg sounds suspect. If the beginning frames line up and the latter frame don't then there are missing frames in the middle of the mpeg.
