Ok, so I was told I got wripped off???

I paid my $38 for 8 discs. They came promptly from Quebec.

I just want to play my favorite game one last time before I die.

I guess I will just have to watch them in real player and imagine its me making the moves.

Oh well, maybe one day a company will come out with a complete Laser Disk collection where you put in the disks and just play without the confusion.

They are probably not so legal copies of the games that can be played using Daphne.

Yes, you got ripped off.

Try to get your money back if you can.

I really don't think I got wripped off as I also purchased MAME from them and it works perfect.

ARGHHHHHH

IS it too much to ask one company to go out and buy licensing rights to all these old lasers and sell them as a complete package where you just pop them in and play?

Sell them in a real nice box set with collectable literature of the industry. Throw in a Dragons Lair reproduction poster etc.

It would look awesome. Like a Rolling Stones commemorative box set.

But instead we have these Mickey Mouse operations doing things half ass.

There is obviously a demand for this stuff. Can't someone do it the right way?

Well..I've got news for you. If you paid for MAME..then you've gotten ripped off again. MAME is available for FREE. And there are legal licenses for some ROMS.

And depending on the game..You can probalby find a laserdisc/laserdisc player on ebay that can work with Daphne.

As for licensing...some companies just don't want to give up rights to their properties. That's just the way it is.

While I'm sure this is a topic of interest to some, it is bordering on violating a few of the message board rules, so I am regretfully locking it.
