Is the credit sound for Dragons Lair II suppossed to be really loud and annoying?

I made my videos and framefile with dvd2daph beta 4 from my Time Warp DVD. Not the anniversary edition. The disc is from the older box set.

I've never played the arcade cabinet, a local arcade has a beautiful DL2 cabinet that they converted to a more modern game. Horrible! They did leave the DL2 side art and I love seeing it when I go there every week.

I converted a Burger Time deco cabinet to a emulator machine. The hardware is done I just have to fix up the old cabinet itself now. I couldn't be happier playing Daphne on it. Thanks so much for this emulator!
Here is the cab in the workshop looking like hell but working great. :)

So, is the credit sound in DL2 suppossed to be annoying and loud?

The I'm sure the sound will be fixed on the next version of Daphne.

The sound isn't broken. It's adjustable, just like the arcade machine.

Thanks chip.

The sound I meant was the warble sound. I decreased the volume with sound recorder and I'm much happier. :-)

I am noticing some timing differences playing the games with .99.7 vs .99.6

If you had read the instructions with dvd2daph 4beta, you'd have known that it is not compatible with 0.99.7 or prior. The timing issues you are seeing are the exact reason why.

as far as DL2 goes, 0.99.7 is pretty outdated. Come to the chatroom for the latest or wait for the next official release which should be out soon. You'll notice a huge improvement.

I'm not sure what you mean by the warble sound, but the latest daphne allows you to adjust sound volume. You don't need to use any external programs. You can change it on the fly.

Hi cip,
will we get improvements also playing with a real laserdisc?
I'm talking of:
1-entering maintenance mode
2-overlay text for LD players that support it.

Thanks!

1 - I don't know of any problems with this that need improving. But no, a real laserdisc player will not change daphne's functionality with this feature.

2 - If you use a real laserdisc player, (Sony 1450) you will have the most authentic text overlay possible. However, daphne does support text overlay via the VLDP as well.

1-With the 99.7 I wasn't able to enter the maintenance mode...
2-So we will have text overlay, with Daphne, and a LD player (say a Pioneer LD-V8000)? (Text overlay is not present when I use the 99.7 and a Sony 1450 or a Pioneer 8000.)

Sorry, chip.
Could you tell me how to see the text overlay, on a TV, with Daphne, and a player like the Pioneer LD-V8000?
Thank you!

Unfortunately that isn't possible. The text is generated within the LDP-1450 itself, and the US DL2 rom was specifically coded to use that player.

New topic since I can't post a new thread:

Does the credit/movement sound work right? Mine sounds like sounds from a game of pong...high pitched blips. Just curious.

This topic is several months old now. Why did you bring this back up? The sounds are pretty much as they should be now.

Ok...I just went into the audio properties and discovered that you can choose sampled sound and emulated sound. If I choose sampled sound, this matches up with what I was looking for. Which one does the arcade game produce? The pong'ish blips that the emulated sound creates, or the sampled sound dl2 files that are located in the sound folder within Daphne?
