Ok before the newer version of Daphne (think version 99.7) all the sounds used to be in stereo, now with the newest version of daphne, beeps and announcer only comes from one speaker (left), and the rest of the audio tracks come from the right speaker (right), How come?

Is there a way to make everything (beeps, announcer, audio track) stereo again instead of seperating them? setting maybe that I missed? It sounds so off to me in mono.

(I did a search in forum and did not find any answers to this question)

ah ok, but is there anyway to change it back to stereo with the new version of daphne?

I hate for the THX speakers in my cabinet to go to waste :P , it sounded so much better in stereo before. :D

Like Layer said that's the way the original laserdisc was. Narration was on one track of the laserdisc, and sounds were on the other. Maybe you were using a converted DVD before and they remastered it to use both channels in stereo... I'm not sure if the DVD does that.

If that's the case you'll need to go back to the converted DVD (which isn't officially supported anymore, but functionally should work if you configure it correctly).

Beeps on the other hand should come through both speakers, iirc. If not it's probably a bug.

yes, the dvd (and therefore any dvd rip) has mixed audio. You could just create a mono ogg file and you'd be all set.

I added a FAQ entry about this.
