This might go under misc. schlop, but I was on YouTube the other night and was watching some videos for a DL2 walkthrough (8 parts). It looked like he might have been using Daphne with the downloaded, better quality graphics version of the game. Anyway, he said it was the PC conversion of the game somewhere near the end of part 7. Part 8 shows an ending and some other random scenes that aren't in the arcade.

So it made me wonder what DL2 version he had. I thought I knew every version that was out there and I've purchased just about every PC version that ever came out. So, does anyone know what he's using to play the game?

Judging from that youtube clip you just posted, I'd say this was from a Windows 95 version of Dragon's Lair 2. I haven't played any PC version of the game myself.

Thanks for the reply. I actually owned that one a long time ago *sigh*. I almost forgot about it. Looks better than the Digital Leisure version. Thanks again :D

I'd have to disagree with you there. The 20th anniversary cd-rom may not look great by DVD standards, but it's a much better Mpeg-1 compression job than previous cd-rom efforts.

I agree with the compression and overall quality of the picture. I just didn't like the faded, almost yellowish tint in some of the levels that Digital Leisure had done. It looked washed out and faded. I'm very glad that you offered a downloadable version with it's vibrant colors and clearer look.

hmm... I'll have to go back and look at the win95 disc again. Did it escape the yellow tint issue entirely? At some point either Readysoft/Digital leisure started using a different and yellower source, or their own source somehow changed (degraded?) It would be interesting to find out when and how this happened.

Also - if memory serves - the win95 DL2 was in .AVI format.

Well, looking at the videos from YouTube, they appear to be correct in color and not so faded. Esp in the Alice In Wonderland level, the cards actually look white, not yellow. At least as far as I can see.
