To all of those who want to use daphne in an arcade cab along with other emulators while only using one front-end, here's a solution. There's a terrific front-end called Game Launcher. Why terrific? Because it looks nothing like Windows! Anyway, I've put together a tutorial on how to implement Daphne into Game Launcher. Here's the link:

http://www.rsad.edu/~kosborn/gldaphne.htm

If I'm out of line for doing this (Matt and other moderators), please let me know and I'll take it down.

Thanks,

Keith

P.S. Please don't e-mail me with question regarding how to do this or that. Please do your research.

Actually, I am using Emu Wizard found at MameWorld as my front end to run both. It actually has instuctions built into the INI on how to set up Daphne.

I remember that I tryed to use Game Launcher when I was setting up a boot-cd for a sort "hard-diskless" MAME cab. I was using IBM-DOS 6.3, Game Launcher and MAME 0.53, but there was no way to start Daphne from it, because Daphne does not run under MS-DOS.
To run Daphne I was thinking to make another boot-CD with Linux on it.
I think the people wants to play laserdisc games with MAME, because they don't want to put any Windows OS in their cabs, and only a few of them is able to set-up an efficent Linux/xMAME/Daphne system.

You're fine. The whole Robert Lloyd debacle centered around combing the source code of daphne and mame which cannot be done due to licenses restrictions. Running daphne and mame side by side is totally acceptable, in fact, I do that myself :)

Po|ng,

How did you go about setting up a DOS hard-diskless system? I'm really interested in doing the same. Please e-mail me.
