Did anybody know that Freedom Fighter was released onto the Philips CD-i format under the name "Escape From Cyber City"?

I was going to see if I could get the animation off of this version, but unfortunately it's not in a MPEG format like the CD-i versions of the ALG games and the Don Bluth games. :(

Assuming Freedom Fighter is a rare find (I have no idea)....

Does anyone know if the footage from this game was taken from "Cyber City Oedo 808"? If so, I wonder if this would be a good candidate to remaster from DVD footage (much like Vera's Cliffy). I suppose there would also have to be an interest in emulating this game in Daphne as well.

From the DLP page at:

http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/gam ... reedom.asp

"Freedom Fighter used Japanese animation from the movies Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu, Galaxy Express."

Hmm... I was under the impression that Galaxy Express 999 was a TV show. Maybe it was a movie and a tv show?

Plus, it doesn't contain all the footage from the LD. (like the baseball scene) :(

I have heard that new content was created specifically for the game which wasn't to be found anywhere else. I don't know whether that's true or not, but it would be really cool if it was :)

According to this RePlay article, posted at DLP, it was. Select "Freedom Fighter" from the list of games.
