Actually, that's exactly how it's supposed to run. In the arcade version, when you died, it would go to another random scene (well somewhat random), then eventually go back to the scene where you died. But it wouldn't be right away. The only ones that have you replay the level again right after you die were the home released versions.

I've recently started using Daphne and when try to play Dragon's Lair, the boot screens and coin screens fast forward until the title screen appears. Then it plays the intro and the video skips to random parts of the game, until it glitches up. When I push the coin button, it goes to the bridge scene, but none of my button presses register. Dirk dies then it skips around to various death scenes and is just all over the place. Any ideas what may be wrong? Space Ace does the same thing, but Cobra Commmand works great. Here's my log:

--DAPHNE version 0.99.7

Compare your sequence of scenes to this URL http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/gam ... quence.asp and see if they are correct or wrong.

If you're talking about the "final" death scene, it's not supposed to do that. If you have lives left, then this is normal. If early enough, the home versions (CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-Video) were set in a particular sequence. The newer ones (CD-ROM Arcade Accurate and all HD products) work the way the arcade version did.

Ok, I know that it's supposed to play the scenes in random order - but last night when I was playing I had it set for unlimited lives (and I forget which rom version - but I was using Daphne Loader). It kept me repeating a scene until I completed it and then went on. Now I know that's not how the arcade worked, but I kinda enjoyed that as it was good practice. Now I can't seem to get back to that behavior - or did I somehow hit a random bug? Anyone have a clue how to make it repeat the level you die on? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I had Daphne Loader download all the files, and I had it unlock them with the 20th Anniversary DVD-Video if that is relevant.

If you die enough times, this eventually happens. The game makes you complete every scene correctly before you can play the last scene, so if you fail every scene, it will make you replay all of them until you succeed. In addition, you must successfully complete the two 9-level falling platform scenes before you can move forward too.

Hello, I recently had an arcade emulator cabinet built that includes Daphne (either directly run or using Hyperspin as my front)

All worked fine for a few weeks but I've noticed Cobra Command only will run on random levels (worked ok in the beginning)

I've gone to Daphne Loader to adjust settings as *sequential but they won't take to the actual game in Hyperspin (when I run test mode it shows dip switches for scenes at random) but I can't as you know adjust thru that menu.

When in my Daphne folder I can choose from DaphneDownLoader or DaphneLoader. I use DaphneLoader as it's mod date is more recent I'm assuming this is the right one to choose.

So on Daphne Loader v1.0-2.2.11 when I try to run Cobra Command directly I get a Daphne error:

Daphne Exited with result code 1

--DAPHNE version 1.0.12
--Command line is: daphne.exe cobraab vldp -framefile framefile\cobra.txt -blank_searches -min_seek_delay 1000 -seek_frames_per_ms 20 -homedir D:\Arcade\Daphne -bank 0 00000000 -bank 1 01011000 -noserversend -sound_buffer 2048 -x 640 -y 480

seems I'm running the latest Daphne version? If I try to run dragon's lair from d loader it works. Cliff hanger opens up a black window and beeps.

I tried to download the latest version and run straight off the desktop but you can tell I'm a partial noob so that didn't get far.

Any help you guys can give is appreciated and thanks for all the work you've done or if you need further details.
