If this has been asked before, I'm sorry, but I couldn't find the exact topic here on the board.

I have the DVD version of Dragon's Lair from a LOOONG time ago when it first came out, and I converted it using DVD2DAPH when that also first came out.

I've noticed that sometimes the "flash" to make your next move sometimes pops up late or not at all. Is this a problem with the DVD, or just my framefile? Basically, the question I'm asking is how accurate is the DVD compared to an original laserdisc??

If the answer is that all the "flashes" aren't there (it just really throws off my timing), I'm just gonna go out and buy a LD and player.

Thanks.

It should be close enough that you shouldn't be able to notice any difference in the timing.

The "flash" to indicate a move is embedded in the animation, so for that it doesn't really matter whether you have the DVD or the LD, since the animation is the same for both.

The flashes in the animation are just like that. Sometimes they come at the exact moment you have to make the move, so if you don't already know the move, the flash won't help you (until you play the scene again and remember where the flash was the last time you died). And there isn't a flash to indicate every single move.

Thanks both of you. Each of you answered half of my question perfectly.

Guess that means I just need more practice :)
