At the moment the Dragons Lair DVD-Rom is only workable option. The others either miss certain scenes or are of considerably poorer image quality or are not yet convertable to use with Daphne.

I would get the three pack DVD Roms.

DL2 does not have a conversion tool for use with Daphne as it not yet officially emulated. Although it looks like it may just be a matter of time.

The Dragons Lair DVD Video has some death scenes that are missing so can not be fully coverted.

The Dragons Lair 20th Anniverssary DVD Video has all the scenes (including all the prototype footage) but there is currently no workable conversion tool.

THE DVD Roms for DL/SA/DL2 come up regularly for sale on ebay at very cheap prices.

To put some clarity to this question. The "DVD-Video" version is for DVD Consoles (XBox, PS2), PC (with DVD player software), or a stand alone home DVD player.

The DVD-ROM version (that can be converted to work directly with Daphne) can be played directly from a PC. It does not require an interface via a DVD player program like the DVD-video version does.

The DVD-Video is a different format/layout (vob's - like a regular DVD movie) of the game and as of yet there is no conversion software to change its data to work with Daphne, and as stated in one of the above posts, the DVD-ROM is a more authentic rendition of the actual game, where the DVD-Video leaves out some scenes. Note that the DVD-Video is glitchy on the PS2, Xbox, and most stand alone DVD players. When using it on a PC, it is not as bad when using Power DVD xp4. The main problem is there is a pause between moves when playing the DVD-Video version. Digital leisure mentions this is less evident with some Stand alone DVD players such as APEX.

Anyway, hope this helps out.

Hi,

Korbin, that's not true. Most DVD-Video versions of Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair 2 and Space Ace can be converted for use with Daphne, also the 20th Anniversary Dragon's Lair (with a workaround for the sync issue). The only version that is missing some death scenes is Dragon's Lair DVD-Video (3Pack). Look in the forum and you can find alot of information about this.

Cool. I'll check it out. In the FAQ it does advise to use the DVD-ROM for the conversion, this and what I remember from the past is what I based the information on. But if you can use the DVD-Video disc now for conversion use with Daphne... well, all the better.
Thanks for the info.
-Korbin.
