I have read the faqs and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong to get Space Ace to run. I am trying to run the Space Ace enhancement 1.0. I have the mpegs, the roms for Space Ace enhanced and the framefiles.

When I start it up it does the following. it runs through a few screens saying that the rom checksum failed, then shows some screenshots of the game. Then I get a black screen where I can put in credits. However, when I do and start the game. I don't get anything other than my lives going down by one. Here is what is in the Daphne log.

I think I am close to getting it to work, but not sure what is still wrong.

--DAPHNE version 0.99.6
--Command line is: C:\daphne-0.99.6-win32\daphne.exe sae vldp -framefile C:\daphne-0.99.6-win32\framefile.txt -spaceace91 -useoverlaysb -enable_leds -bank 0 10011001 -bank 1 01100111 -x 800 -y 600 -latency 150 -noserversend

I would check the integrity of your m2v file. If looks like it is having trouble searching to the correct spot. Try using the MPEG seek test to see if the video is accurate..

Are you sure your disc is the 1991 version?

I tried the mpeg seek test and it gave me a bad command error. I don't know how to tell if it's the 91 version or not. :-?

Your laserdisc will have a copyright date of either 1983 or 1991 on it's label. This will tell you which version you have.

I have tried doing a seektest and messing with the settings. I am close to getting it to run, but I don't know what I am doing wrong. It flashes through some screens of the game when I try to run it and I end up at a screen where I can insert coins, but the screen remains black and my lives go down by one...This is what the Daphne log feeds back..

--DAPHNE version 0.99.6
--Command line is: C:\daphne-0.99.6-win32\daphne.exe seektest vldp -preset 1 -framefile C:\daphne-0.99.6-win32\framefile.txt -fullscreen -x 800 -y 600 -noserversend
--CPU : GenuineIntel 2400 MHz || Mem : 512 megs
--OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : RADEON 9000 SERIES
Setting screen width to 800
Setting screen height to 600
Set 800x600 at 32 bpp with flags: 80000001
Initializing sound system ...
Joystick #0 was successfully opened
Reading key remapping file ... (if the file is corrupt, daphne will crash, just so you know hehe)
Booting ROM ...
Search to 1161 received
LDP-VLDP.CPP : Search failed in video or audio file
SEEKTEST : Surface does not match mpeg, re-allocating surface!
LDP_VLDP : lock_overlay timed out without getting a lock
SEEKTEST ERROR : Timed out trying to get a lock on the yuv overlay

and the last part just kind of repeats over and over

Any ideas?? :-?

Have you tried downloading the game roms again? Possibly you got a bad bin file.
