I have an arcade cabinet running several mpeg laser disc games, including the DVD2Daph versions of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. Both run great, but there's a long delay before the game starts playing after credits are inserted. During Daphne start-up, there's the typical delay before the attract mode as the machine initializes, but the problem occurs when I add credits and hit player one start. The delay is several minutes long, but once the game starts everything runs perfectly. I experienced the same problem on another cabinet running Daphne. It only seems to affect the DVD ripped games (DL and SA), and the PC is running at 2.6 GHz with 512 MB of RAM. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Most likely it is trying to seek to a frame that does not exist. You can see which frames it is seeking to inside daphne_log.txt. You may want to check your framefile to make sure that there is an .m2v file defined for the frame it is trying to find.

Well, I figured out what the problem was and it was a lot simpler than I thought. It turns out that DaphneLoader was setup for joystick inputs and I didn't have a joystick attached (my MAME cab uses an I-Pac to emulate keyboard strokes). One I removed the joystick settings, it launched almost immediately. DOH!

Thanks for the suggestions.
