just recently reinstalled daphne on my cpu and for some reason I don't get the commentary during the attract mode. I can play the game just fine though. I do get the commentary in space ace. Anyone, know what would cause this?

I believe on of the dipswitch settings determines whether you get the sound during attract mode or not. I think it is one of the settings in daphneloader.

Are you running the Dragon's Lair US Enhancement 2.0 rom? If so, there is an option under the configure game tab (Attract Mode Audio). . .
Always with Narrator/Always, Narrator Muted/1 out of 8 times with Narrator/1 out of 8 times, Narrator Muted
It's probably set on Always, Narrator Muted. Just change it to whichever option you would like...more likely Always with Narrator. : )

It's also possible your speaker cord isn't plugged in all the way, and you're getting the right channel in both left and right speakers

That was weird because all the versions were that way. But once I changed from default with the 2.0 and made sure always was checked they all work now. I was then able to change it back to default settings and they all still work. Thanks for the help.
