Hi everyone! I was reading that there is a Dragon's Lair Limited Edition Laserdisc which was pressed in 2002. I also read that it contained "prototype" animation on it that wasnt released on the earlier version LDs. Does anyone know if that prototype animation was the Gargoyle scene that is on the Dragon's Lair 20th Anniversary DVD? And if so, is it possible to take that scene off of the DVD and use it in Daphne? Thanks.

Yep, the 20th Anniversary DVD has the same footage as the laserdisc. You just need the 2.0 roms (or better yet the 2.1 roms)

They can be found over at DLP

This page on Dragon's Lair Project should have the information you need. To play it in Daphne, you need to use the 2.0 (or 2.1) enhanced ROMs. It is a dipswitch setting (Game Mode in Daphne Loader).

The Gargoyle scene was created by Digital Leisure from an original penciled scene that Bluth did. It was never officially completed, and is therefore not on the LE laserdisc.

However, it was never a part of the prototype game (past or present) either, so the only way you can play it is via Digital Leisure's method.

You need to run it from the command line. Daphneloader does not support the new roms yet. You need to change the DLE20 to DLE21

When you say about a command line, what are you refering to, is this what it is, this is what it looks like when run on 20:Command line is: C:\MY DOCUMENTS\DAPHNE\daphne.exe dle20 vldp -framefile C:\My Documents\daphne\mpeg2\dl_Laserdisk.txt -fullscreen -useoverlaysb 2 -bank 0 11011100 -bank 1 01110111 -x 640 -y 480 -sound_buffer 8192
--CPU : AuthenticAMD 750 MHz || Mem : 256 megs
--OS : Windows ME || Video : NVIDIA Vanta LT (Compaq)
Setting screen width to 640
Setting screen height to 480
Setting sound buffer size to 8192
Set 640x480 at 16 bpp with flags: 80000001
