I am glad I found Daphne because now I can play the Deluxe Pack on XP. But I was wondering if there is anything else I should do. I have already done the following:

1. Installed Daphne 0.99.6

2. Used dl2daph 1.01

3. Fixed the 2 problems in dlcdrom.txt

4. Used Dragon's Lair rev. F2 rom

5. And I run Daphne with the following command line:
daphne lair vldp -framefile "dlcdrom.txt" -fullscreen

But should I be doing more? I have noticed that scenes repeat themselves more than when i was playing the Deluxe Pack on Windows ME. And because of this problem I can't reach the Dragon's Lair (final level). Thanks for your time.

DAPHNE presents Dragon's Lair in its true arcade-accurate form, unlike the Deluxe Pack CD-R, which in and of itself is not arcade-authentic. If you're finding that scenes repeat themselves more when using DAPHNE than when simply playing the Deluxe Pack by itself, then chances are pretty good that they're supposed to.

As you already know, there are several scenes in Dragon's Lair (Flaming Ropes, Flying Horse, Elevator, etc.) which will repeat themselves several times during the course of a game before you reach the dragon's lair at the end. This is perfectly normal. Furthermore, once you have completed the entire sequence of original scenes prior to reaching the dragon's lair, you will then have to once again face whichever scenes you failed to complete successfully the first time around. This is also perfectly normal. Hope this helps.

Thanks Calico Jack. Now how can I play Space Ace. I realize that the copy on the deluxe pack is missing a video file but couldn't a new rom be made to ignore that. Or could we replace the file missing one with a blank one? And how close is Daphne to Dragon's Lair II support? Thanks again everyone.

Easiest way to play Space ace is to simply buy the DVDROM version of the game from digital liesure. Its well worth it. I have the delux version cdroms as well and I have bought most of the DVD versions because the quality is soooo much better. If you are gonna buy the DVDrom versions you might want to pick up DL2 as well, I've heard rumor that daphne might support that soon.

I have set up a new page on my web-site that will help the more common PC user to play the Deluxe Pack on Windows XP. You can visit it here:
