I'm using the 3.19 rom, with a second press disc, with a Sony 3600D, which is fully supported by Daphne.

The game play the intro, I insert the two coins, I hit "1", and stop, After 5 or more second of noise comming from the LD player, I get a a frame of introduction, and then it replays the intro.

One other thing, I can't here the PC speaker doing the noises when I insert the coins? Is that normal? do I need a sound card for that? And I need to connect the sound card the the PC speaker?

Thank you!!!

here is a problem. The search is failing. This means either your disc or your player has a problem.

Here what I get now.
I'm able to begin to play. Everything is fine (exept the seeking times when I loose are around 5 seconds... much longer than what's reported here...)
If I loose after having entered the castle, the game freezes, and it restarts. I tried adding some latency, but to no avail... and the PC is just a Pentium 166MHz...

Here's the log

Looks like a bad disc or bad laserdisc player.

The second level is flawless...
I have two DL2 discs, and they both do the same.
It's stange because if I die in the first level... it happens what I said, but the treasure collecting does not make the game crash... yes, a bit slow (in the first level) but the game continues...

Ah, and I don't see any text overlay, is this normal?

I tried to use the search function in that program to control the ld player (LDP.exe)
I tried searching the 2177 frame, and it took 8 seconds.
I tried the frame just before and after it... 1.5 second.
Some frames seem more difficult to be found... do you think I have two bad DL2 discs?
Cleaning then with, say, Novus 2, would do something?
Thanks!

Today is a different story...
I can't even use the LDP program to search, the player doesn't go to the frame I tell it to go. It just search and then back to frame 1, with errorcounter indicationg 1, an error.
I obviously, can even play the game...
This, on both discs.
So, is the player broken?
The player can play through the game (using the play function in the LDP program)... just doesn't perform searches...
Do I need to trash my "new", first ever laserdisc player?

One more info so you can better understand what I'm experiencing here.
If I increase the frame to be searched (with the LDP program), say 10000, the player produces a bad sound... like that of a grinder... and with my precious DL2 laserdisc inside... that's not a nice sound to hear.
If I just play (with the LDP program) the disc, everything is fine, but it fails on searches.
Is the player flwed?

One last thing: about the difference of "naud" and "bit per second"
If the player is set to 9600 baud, which is the correct speed of the COM port, considering I have to express it in bit per second?

Thank you!
