Just curious to know if any forum members had ever owned RDI's Halcyon or if any forum members currently own a Halcyon?
I have never owned one, but I do remember receiving the full-color brochure about it directly from RDI way back in '84.

I did, and interesting enough the night I bought it in San Diego, guess who walked in to the laser disc store? No other than Rick Dire himself buying his own Halcyon player. This was shortly after the hole fall out.

I still have the player and my Dragons Lair disk. Unfortunately the disc is suffering from laser rot.

Cool!! You met Rick Dyer! Bet that was a really special day for you! :)
Sorry to hear about your DL laserdisc -- laser rot is a yucky thing! :(
I loved the video footage about the Halcyon system that is featured in the Thayer's Quest DVD that I recently purchased. :)
Is your Hal still working after all these years?

Actually I was about 14 or 15 years old and I did not know who he was. The sales clerk informed me of it as he left. Since, I have seen pictures of him and it was definately him. It was just after a big law suit over the whole ordeal. You would have never known the man had money, he walked in just wearing an old pair of levis driving an old beat up truck.

The store owner was telling me that he comes in to his store all the time.
