I still own a Philips CD-i, and I have DL, DLII, and SA on it.
I know, the picture was rather crappy -- but I would love to know why the gameplay on the CD-i was absolutely FLAWLESS! It had NO pauses, NO crashes, it played JUST LIKE the original arcade games!!!!!
Anyone have any theories as to why this was so??

Jodi

well, it was a system designed for games first and movies second. DVD players weren't designed for games at all (I assume you're comparing the cd-i to the dvd-video versions and not the dvd-rom or cd-rom or HD versions which all also DO NOT have pauses)

well, it wasn't so. They didn't play like the arcade games at all. DL2 was the closest, and even it had moves that were inaccurate (a left/right where there should have been an up, etc)

To keep this on-topic, we use daphne so we *can* play the games exactly like they were in the arcades.
