I was wondering if anyone else noticed this, but when you move especially in Dragon's Lair, the beep is so much louder than the sound generated by the mpeg. I converted from dvd, and I remember the dvd was a low volume, so I usually have to turn up the volume for dragon's lair to get a suitable playable sound, but the beep is then so loud it is kind of annoying, so I feel like I sacrifice game sound or try to make the beep appropriate, are there any plans to make the sound emulation volume manipulative? That would be the perfect twist to get a happy medium between the two. I want to clarify not to just lower it, but make it adjustable, because I don't know if running it directly from the laser disc if it is ok. I know the dvd was low, and most people are using m2v files, so I would guess everyone is dealing with the loud beep.

Thanks for any responses. And thanks for an awesome memory of childhood!!!!

I don't plan on implementing a volume control since I don't use the dvd-converted files, I use a laserdisc capture that I made which has the audio stream normalized.

Here are some places where this has been discussed before:

hope that helps!

I may be going about this backwards, but I found a much easier solution to the accept/buzz/credit sounds too loud/quiet problem.

Open the files dl_accept.wav, dl_buzz.wav and dl_credit.wav (after backing them up of course) in Windows Sound Recorder (start/programs/accessories/entertainment/sound recorder) and simply increase or decrease the volume, and you will have normalized sound in game.

[edit: okay, so thread 2 and 3 discussed that point....I thought they would be about normalizing the mpegs....I never did find those threads when I searched though....I actually figured the trick out before reading it here, so oh well....In other words....bump]
