I'm trying to use Convvid2daph to convert my 20th Anniversary Dragons Lair CD Rom.

I see a red sentence saying "not enough free space", and if I run it anyways it results in a 2 second "ripping" that does nothing. I have a lot of free hard space...

From another post on this forum from a guy who had the same problem but no one ever responded...(i cut and pasted it)

"I read somewhere someone else had this problem, and corrected it by installing the "DVD patch". That's all he said. What's the DVD patch?"

If the problem I'm having is this "patch the other post refers to" where on earth do you download it?? I don't a reference to a DVD patch or any type anywhere...

If it's not that, what is the problem I'm having?

Please help!!

Thx

I didn't think anything could convert the 20th anniversary CD-ROM to Daphne format. Even if you could, I'm not sure why you'd want to because the video quality would be terrible.

You're probably not getting any feedback because most of us have never used Convid.... I believe most people use DVD2DAPH.

I would recommend getting a DVD-based version of the game and converting it with DVD2DAPH.

Later,

Brad O.

Brad,

The latest version actually added support for the CD-ROM 20th anniversary edition :)

I guess it will be hard to get feedback on this :(

actually, DL2 in the 20th cd-rom pack is re-designed the way the animators intended. It's the only version of DL2 (so far) that functions this way. The video quality isn't as good as the dvds, but the gameplay functions the way it was supposed to be, unlike the arcade and daphne.

So, if you ask me, true fans would have the cd-rom version and a laserdisc for the best of both worlds. :)

So, did you get convvid2daph working in the end? I just got the Space Ace DVD and I'm getting exactly the same problem. Maybe it's getting confused because I have two DVD drives?

There was an older version CD that had AVI files.

The newer version DVD has mpeg2 files.

In the middle is the 20th anniversary CD that has the mpeg1 files, which I have. There is no conversion utility for that version, but it plays excellently by itself, just the way I remembered it.
