I'm nearly there with DL2. Just can't get rid of the white text, which is fine when it says insert coin but very annoying during the game as it shows every move (ie left, right, sword) at the bottom of the screen.

Running a rip from DVD and version 3.19.

How do I disable the overlay - no options in the loader work?

Sorry if a dumb question - we are all newbies once!

The 3.19 roms show the moves for the first level by default. 3.18 and lower do not do this, so if it bugs you switch to an older version.

If you can get into the Configuration, you can set the difficulty to something higher than 0 and it will remove the moves display on the 1st level. Off the top of my head I can't remember what keys you press in Daphne to access the configuration screens.

is the 99.8 version out? I remember the 99.7 didn't support the text overlay...

You press CTRL-9 to get into the DL2 NVRAM configuration in the latest CVS Daphne.

And no, the LDP1450 text overlays have not yet been released in an official Daphne version.
