hey guys.. here is a directX 7 program that should display a Space Ace screen in a window (and the window can be resized). I am curious to know if this works on ATI 9200/9600 cards or not.

After I hear back about this one, I will try to come up with a version that is fullscreen.

Just tested with my ATI FireGL T2, which is based on the Radeon 9600 (I think) chipset. Seems to work. I get a sizable window with a single cell of Space Ace in it. When I resize it, the image stretches to fit the window.

Anything else I should be looking for? Any text overlay? I hope not because I don't see any. :-)

well... that is odd, considering hw_test program is modified from a sample straight from the DX7 SDK.

The reason I keep referring to DX7 is because I think that is the last time Microsoft did any work on their YUV overlay stuff... I think DX8 just refers back to DX7 for overlay controls.. as for DX9, I haven't looked at the SDK so I don't know if they've updated it.

If anyone wants to send me an ATI 9200/9600 (or any other that fails the HW test on daphne), it would probably make the hw accel problems in Daphne go away much faster.

Matt,

If you will provide me with a shipping address, I will see that you get one of the broken cards. Just email me: jallen@cybercoma.com.
