I just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved for making such a great emulator. I built a MAME cabinet a cpl of years ago, but it was always lacking the few games the I have always been most fond of... Laserdisc games.

Just about everything put out by digital leisures has been crap (compared to Daphne anyways) with the exception of the "Arcade Authentic" release of Dragon's Lair, so I was extremely excited when I found out about Daphne. Finally a version of Space Ace that I can play in windows that doesn't reek! If anyone's interested I just put up a quick page stating my enthusiasm about Daphne on my game cabinet's website:

http://www.russprince.com/cabinet

Oh and BTW, I am interested in possibly contributing to the project. I am a game developer by profession, and I have already made a few tweaks to the Daphne code to allow for joystick button remapping (I couldn't find the lastest latest code on the net however.) If anyone out there with the power reads this, I would like a CVS account so I could get the latest development code.

Thanks again!
Russ Prince

Russ,

Thanks for the kind words! (Matt deserves most of the credit, of course, but we all like to hear supportive comments! ) :)

We can always use help with the code. I'll email you re: your potential changes.

-Warren.

Well, this tread seems to be the place for this so...
I've been reading the boards for years now, only recently have I begun to post (only because I finally had something too post).
I just want to give a BIG Thanks to the Daphne Team.

Growing up as a Dragon's Lair fanatic I always dreamed of owning my own DL. Of all the years of dropping tons of quarters into arcade machines where ever I could find an arcade I'll never forget the Laser Disc games in particular. They were always my favorite and it was always a joy when a new one would find its way to a local arcade.
Remembering seeing for the first time... Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Cliff Hanger, Star Rider, Astron Belt, MACH 3, NFL, Fire Fox, and the list goes on... With each new one, I could feel the excitement, the anticipation, just welling up. I believe I've seen every laser disc arcade in person but Goal to Go (I’m sure there are some that I don’t know that exist of course).
Having a collection of 9 arcades that I’ve repaired myself, it’s these very laser disc cabinets that have always evaded me.
I think it’s a special kind of person who really understands the fascination behind the laser disc arcade game (none of my friends understand it) and I feel right at home, and in good company here at the Daphne boards.
You guys have always been helpful to the enthusiast and know more information than what could possibly be good for you.
Thanks for giving this "love of the game" a home guys. You've helped allow me to stay young just a little longer.
Kudos…
-Dennis (aka-Korbin)

absolutely. Considering the onslaught of pirates and demands that have been posted recently, this was a great read. Thanks Korbin, it's great to have you out of the shadows and actively posting.
