Hi
I only want to report some little issues that occurred while playing on "OUR" ( I'm italian , heh ! ) wonderful blue-screen Dragon's and Ace on Daphne ! I called them "little" because they don' t cause a trouble in the game ( they can be played and completed just like in the real arcades ) , but the emulation of their blue-screen and audio are not perfect .
First of all I have to thank very much Mark Broadhead who provided the drivers for the emulation , and , of course , Mr. Matt Ownby , who also had the patience to listen me ...
Mark ! Heh ... I'm the one who worked with Matteo Marioni on the captures of the ORIGINAL discs , then I did some encodings & conversions to produce nice mpegs for Daphne ! Yeah it was me that tried and tried the games to report to you various issues ( quickly solved , indeed ) , and probably I'm the one who bothered you
!
Well , about the VIDEO :
_there are some vertical blue lines while the virtual disc player perform "seek" and "skip" commands
_blue screen might appear instantaneously between two different scenes and stay for few seconds , displaying current lives left and score.
Daphne's euro games sometimes display it just for an instant , with a second of "black" ( I said "a second" ... it might be more or less , depending on the delay given to the vldp
)
... about the AUDIO :
_"Volume of all audio besides VLDP" must be set at a maximum of 50% , otherwise the audio will distorce loudly
_in the arcade machine beep & buzz sound generator is connected with the ONLY RIGHT audio amplifer , while in Daphne we can hear those sounds coming from BOTH L & R channels .
[ P.S. it is the same in U.S. versions : Daphne beeps and buzzs on both audio speakers instead of "only" the right one : I solved that little difference from a "real" arcade machine by editing the sampled sounds and telling Daphne to use them instead of emulateds ...
.
> It could NOT be done for Euros , because they only use emulated sounds , and the dedicated option on DaphneLoader gui does not have effect <
Cliff Hanger has almost the same defect : the arcade plays beep & buzz on the LEFT channel only ... ]
... and that's all
Bye
