Cliff Hanger - Using remote control jack

Post by Matt Ownby »

If you are having reliability problems using Cliff Hanger with the infrared transmitter (ie the "IR blaster"), you can mod your Cliff Hanger to use the remote control jack instead.

The type of plug is a 3.5mm mono plug with just a tip and a sleeve.

To test that you have the wiring correct, you can use these test points on the Dexter board (with the plug inserted into the jack).

With the remote control cable plugged in, "signal" should be connected to pin 4 of J8 on the Cliff Hanger ZPU board and "ground" should be connected to Cliff Hanger's ground.
Check out my cool projects!
