HI there,
I have dexter in my DL2 cabinet that i had been successfully running for quite a while. I ran into a problem the other day when I started her up. I heard a bunch of beeps and the screen remained blank. I rebooted a couple of times only to have the same issue. On one of these instances I had the first screen pictured show ( with the error messages) a couple of more reboots,..nothing. I found a possible solution on th e forum which involved removing the usb drive since its only needed for updates…i started her up but it didnt work, so i replaced the usb and booted up again then got a completely different screen (Firmware) which never progressed past “0” (second pic). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much.
Sorry if the images are hyperlinks im such a luddite.

Re: Problem booting my DL2 with Dexter
UPDATE:
I was able to get the game running by toggling the mode button till i got video, then a reboot and it worked. It continued to work for a while, the pulse light on the dexter blinking away- I walked away for a bit and I came back the video had frozen on the attract mode and the pulse light was no longer blinking. I restarted heard some beeps and I got a screen that says:
Firmware” sending page 0/247 (256 bytes)
It freezes at that screen.
Things Ive done include checking if there are firmware updates on Dexter Manager, there were none. Disconnecting and reconnecting wires, not sure what else I can do. I ve followed along with some of Matts videos but not big solution. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Problem booting my DL2 with Dexter
If the pulse light isn't blinking, that could mean a loose connection between the Raspberry Pi and the Dexter PCB.
You might also want to try replacing Dexter's SD card as some people have had those fail after a few years.

Thanks Matt,
Tried to disconnect and reconnect the Pi to Dexter wire, didnt work BUT! I wiggled the power connector to the Dexter and that worked. Sort of pulled it out and the solid green lights went to blinking and the machine immediately started working.
